You can walk to Moraine Lake – and I've seen people do it (although I never have). Prepare for a 14 km walk one way uphill, following a pretty boring paved road. I would plan at least 2.5 hours to walk to Moraine Lake from the start of the road.May 3, 2022

You can drive to Moraine Lake , but then you have to try and get parking (which is extremely difficult.) Other ways you can get to Moraine Lake include riding the Parks Canada Park and Ride shuttle, the Lake Louise Connector Shuttle, taking the Roam public transit, or going on an organized tour.

The parking lot at Moraine Lake often fills up before sunrise between June to the end of September . This means between 5-6am in the summer. Once the parking lot is full, the road closes the road to vehicles, so if you don't get a spot, you'll have to make alternative plans.
