Erdogan’s remarks about lifting coronary restrictions and drafting a new constitution

Turkish President Rejep Tayyip Erdogan held a press conference after the cabinet meeting at the Presidential Palace in Ankara.

Emphasizing that the February 28 coup, like the May 27 and September 12 coups, targeted national will and values, he said: “Our nation, which does not hesitate to sacrifice its life if necessary, will never allow events to happen.” Repeat May 27, September 12 and February 28. Those who are in conflict with the values, beliefs and institutions of the nation and have betrayed their homeland will not be spared from the bitter fate that awaits them.

Erdogan added: “Those who support the coup by making headlines and writing obscene columns and their baseless position cannot remove this stigma from their foreheads even after a thousand years, 24 years is nothing.”

He pointed out that by raising the issue of a new and civil constitution for discussion, we have entered the path of attracting the participation of all sections of society, noting that one of the most important tasks of the political institution is to save Turkey from the shackles of the constitution during the coup.

Erdogan further called on all political parties and stakeholders to participate in the drafting of a new and civil constitution with a constructive approach and stressed: “Our goal is to strengthen and maintain sustainable and healthy growth in order to improve the well-being of our citizens in the long run.”

The President of the Republic of Turkey, emphasizing that we will put the financial rules at the forefront today, as in the past, noted: If no one accompanies us in this direction, as a coalition, complete the text of the new and civil constitution and evaluate it. We will present our nation.

Erdogan also added: “If necessary, we will renew the structure of the country’s state-owned companies and increase their efficiency and competitiveness.”

He continued: “The country’s exports, which had a favorable start in 2021, in February compared to the same period last year grew by 9.6 percent to more than $ 16 billion.” Our people are confident about using the money in the government fund to guarantee the future of the country’s 84 million population.

“Cultural racism is now institutionalized in most European countries, especially France,” he said.

Regarding the gradual lifting of the Crohn’s restrictions in the country, Erdogan said: “As we promised our citizens before, we will start the process of normalization under control today.” The decision to lift restrictions or measures may be re-enacted depending on the circumstances of the corona outbreak in each province.

He pointed out that face-to-face training in middle school, high school and other grades begins in low-risk and medium-risk provinces, adding: “In high-risk provinces, only high school exams will be held in person.”

Erdogan also stated that Turkey has been among the top 5 countries in the world in this regard by vaccinating 9 million people, equivalent to 10% of the total population. The process of normalization in the provinces of the country will be accelerated with the observance of more measures by the citizens.

The President of the Republic of Turkey continued: “Based on the danger situation of each province in terms of corona, their risk-taking color is identified weekly and the normalization process will be updated every two weeks.”

He stressed that office hours throughout Turkey have returned to normal and that the governorates will take action if necessary, adding that traffic restrictions will continue between 9 pm and 5 am across the country.

Erdogan clarified about the traffic restriction: in low and medium risk provinces it has been completely abolished and in high risk provinces it will continue for some time on Sundays.

“Restaurants and cafes are allowed to operate at 50 percent capacity from 7:00 to 19:00, except in high-risk provinces,” he said.

In the end, the Turkish President said: “I sincerely believe that Turkey, as a country that was a model and leader during the epidemic, will be equally successful in the process of lifting the restrictions.”
