ZONESCAN 820 – Point Water Loss Leak Detection Equipment

GUTERMANN ZONESCAN 820 – Point Water Leak Detection Equipment

Zonescan 820 Water Loss Leak Detection Equipment of Gutermann brand, of which AYKOME is the distributor in Turkey, is the most advanced, powerful and best performing noise recorder logger in the market. It has the ability to record water loss-leakage and leakage sound in detail on a daily basis. It is the only radio frequency recording device worldwide. It has the feature of associating sound recording, frequency spectrum and sounds in detail. With this feature, it filters the noise from external sources. It detects the location of water loss-leakage and leakage by cross-correlation between loggers.

WHAT ARE THE ZONESCAN 820 APPLICATION MODELS?
There are three standard applications for the ZONESCAN 820 logger platform:

Uninstall and Replace mode using popular Smart software on an Android device (for finding tricky leaks or doing local leak investigations)
Drive-by mode (for continuous or periodic distribution and weekly collection of data in a drive-through survey) using ZONESCAN SMART with or without uploading data to the ZONESCAN NET cloud
Fixed network monitoring combined with Alpha communication package (the world’s only completely unmanned and automatic permanent network monitoring system) with direct data transmission to the cloud
In the first two applications above, Zonescan “leak intelligence units” continuously monitor and analyze noise characteristics within the distribution system and can detect and identify the presence and location of a leak. Once within range of a Zonescan logger, a patrol operator (on Lift & Swipe) will receive automatic notification from the system’s voice onboard master software before reporting the presence or probability of a leak at that point in the water mains. . If aural confirmation of leak noise is desired, the operator can listen directly to the digitally transmitted leak sound from his vehicle at any time without the need for a physical connection to the recorders.

Global success story of ZONESCAN 820 Water Leak Detection Equipment:
The ZONESCAN recorder was the first associated recorder in the world, released in 2001 and sold tens of thousands of times. It has since been redesigned to perfection. It has become smaller, more precise and more robust. The interior is completely wire-free and the degree of industrial miniaturization is unmatched. ZONESCAN 820 was designed in-house to perfectly meet the very high requirements of frequent outdoor use. It is the only recorder on the market with a proprietary radio module. At GUTERMANN we have a policy of zero tolerance for hardware failures. Needless to say, the loggers are IP68 protected.

The ZONESCAN family is fully modular:
Remove and replace the ZONESCAN 820 Water Leak Detection Equipment. Whether you use it in trolley or fixed network (remote access) mode, you only buy one type of recorder that can be used for all purposes. This allows you to change your work mode along the way or add more recorders to your collection in the future. The two-way radio link allows us to help you upgrade your recorders’ firmware at any time so you are fully aware of the latest technology. The easy-to-use and attractive ZONESCAN Smart management tool (under Android OS) allows you to export all your project data to ZONESCAN Net if you choose to manage your network and store all data “in the cloud”.

30 times more precise thanks to correlation:
GUTERMANN invented the correlative recorder in 2001. Today we know that pure noise recording produces a lot of false positives (false alarms) and false negatives (unidentified leaks). Crowded cities have a lot of noise and electrical interference. This disables noise level recording. ZONESCAN 820 recorders can filter ambient sounds around the recorders (thanks to correlation) and electrical and mechanical noises in the pipe (with enhanced spectrum analysis) and identify actual leaks. Another important benefit of correlation is its ability to automatically and accurately locate the identified leak. Once your pipe data is imported, the leak will be placed in the correct spot on the pipe map.

Remove and Slide action:
When the term “Lift and Slide” was first introduced by GUTERMANN engineers, the most common way to use loggers was to collect data for periodic leak investigations in confined areas and for subsequent analysis of moving loggers from area A to area B. To this date, it is still a popular method for utilities who like to appoint leak teams to periodically check all areas of the pipe network for new leaks. In Lift & Shift, the operator programs the loggers to download and review the collected data before deploying it at night and collecting it the next day.

Drive-by operation:
In “Drive-by” mode, the loggers remain in their assigned positions in the pipe network at all times. At periodic intervals, at the discretion of the utility, the operator passes by the logger locations. ZONESCAN Commlink automatically receives the recorded data from the loggers. Up to 30 days of log and overnight correlation data can be stored. The drive-by method is preferred by utilities who want to minimize the frequency of inspections in certain areas and therefore reduce any leak uptime. They also want the option to leverage longer historical data for each logger to analyze specific leak situations.

ZONESCAN Smart for smart operators:
ZONESCAN smart revolutionizes mobile leak detection as you know it. This software is Java-based and can be used on all Android-powered smartphones and tablets. It is the most advanced and user-friendly operating software for any mobile noise recorder system. The handy autofilter greatly increases your leak hit rate. All relevant data (logger locations, leak locations, imported pipe data) and even your own current location are displayed on OpenStreetmap or Google Maps in the same clear and organized manner we know from ZONESCAN net. ZONESCAN smart can be used for both Drive-by and Lift and Slide operation. All data is transferred to your ZONESCAN Net project.

Upgrade to Fixed Network Monitoring If you already own the ZONESCAN 820 Water Leak Detection Equipment, you can upgrade them to fixed network monitoring ZONESCAN Alpha. Deploy them permanently in your pipe network and connect them to your cloud-based ZONESCAN Net account via ZONESCAN repeaters and Alpha units. You will never have to leave your office again, except for leak repairs. Our ZONESCAN smart and ZONESCAN net platforms are compatible. You can easily exchange data between them. Use ZONESCAN smart for maximum convenience in the field, ZONESCAN net for unlimited data storage, long-term correlation and data analysis, and sharing your network data within your organization and for expanded reporting tools.
